Built in the 1st century BC on the slopes of Colle San Pietro, Verona's Roman Theatre is older than the famous Arena. Its tiered stone cavea overlooks the Adige River and offers panoramic views of Ponte Pietra and the historic centre. Higher up the hill, inside a former monastery, the Archaeological Museum displays ancient Roman mosaics, bronze sculptures, and inscriptions.
