Romania's main history museum occupies the former Central Post Office Palace on Calea Victoriei. Its centrepiece is a full-size plaster replica of Trajan's Column depicting Rome's conquest of Dacia. The National Treasury holds Dacian gold bracelets and the Pietroasele Hoard, while the basement lapidarium displays carved stone and Roman inscriptions. One of the country's largest museums — allow a couple of hours.
