Schipfe

Historic site4.1 · 25≈ 30 min

In medieval times, the "Schipfe" was used as a place of transshipment for important goods. In the 16th century, the silk and shipbuilding industries, as well as public baths, started to establish themselves here. The little Schipfe, stretching along the Limmat below the Lindenhof, is one of Zurich's oldest districts. It was once an area where fishermen left their boats; today, the Schipfe is home to artisans and their charming little shops.
