The Roman Forum is the ancient agora of 2nd-century Thessaloniki, preserved among the blocks of the upper town. The complex includes an odeon that hosted performances and assemblies, stoas with colonnades and underground cryptoporticus galleries found by chance during construction work in the 1960s. The open area is freely accessible, and the ancient levels read clearly from the viewing platform by the odeon.
