The Peace Bell is located very close to the Pyramid of Tirana and has a dark history. We didn't mention in the history section that in 1997, Albania experienced a short civil war. The war was caused by financial unrest between the government and many citizens. After the fall of communism, Albania entered a period of economic uncertainty. People got involved in Ponzi schemes, some of which were even sanctioned by the government. Inevitably, these dubious investment schemes collapsed.
