Seville's premier public green space, laid out along the Guadalquivir River. Donated to the city in 1893 by Infanta María Luisa Fernanda, it was redesigned in romantic Moorish-revival style by French landscape architect Forestier for the 1929 Ibero-American Expo. Its shaded avenues of bitter orange trees and jasmine conceal tiled fountains, glazed azulejo ceramic benches, and the grand Plaza de España.
