A monumental classical monument in San Francisco's Marina District, originally designed by Bernard Maybeck for the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition. Evoking a romantic Greco-Roman ruin, the open-air rotunda and curved Corinthian colonnade are framed by a tranquil artificial lagoon home to swans and migratory ducks. Completely rebuilt in durable materials in the 1960s, it remains a beloved photography location.
