Housed in a tower beside Osaka Castle, the museum walks you through 1,350 years of the city: floors arranged from the 7th-century Naniwa Palace to the merchant quarters of the Edo era. Full-scale reconstructions and detailed models stand beside archaeological finds — part of the floor is glazed directly over an excavation site. The upper floors offer one of the best views of Osaka Castle and its moats.
