One of the world's oldest surviving Jewish burial grounds lies nestled within Prague's Josefov district. Because space was constrained, graves were layered up to twelve deep, creating a sea of more than 12,000 tilted stone markers shaded by elder trees. Notable figures buried here include the legendary creator of the Golem, Rabbi Judah Loew.
