National Trust - Castlefield Viaduct

Other4.4 · 6154.4 · 56≈ 30 min

Manchester's very own Castlefield Viaduct in the city centre, restored, reimagined, and long abandoned, is an analogue of New York's High Line. Originally built as a railway line in 1892, this iconic structure fell into disrepair until the National Trust took it over to create a beautiful park in the sky. Detour: Head back into the city centre for another transport-themed walk along the Castlefield Viaduct. This green abandoned railway spur is a wonderful elevated escape, similar to the High Line in New York (but without the skyscrapers).
