Tugu Negara — a bronze monument to seven Malaysian soldiers by the Lake Gardens in Kuala Lumpur, honouring those who fell in World War II and the Malayan Emergency. The roughly 15-metre group was created by American sculptor Felix de Weldon, author of the Iwo Jima Memorial, and unveiled in 1966. A raised flag and a wounded comrade supported by his fellows stand for courage and sacrifice, with a memorial garden and fountain nearby.
