Catalonia's premier art museum, housed in the monumental Palau Nacional on Montjuïc hill, built for the 1929 International Exposition. The museum is world-famous for its unrivaled collection of Romanesque church murals rescued from Pyrenean valleys, including the Pantocrator of Sant Climent de Taüll. Galleries also showcase Catalan Modernisme paintings, furniture by Antoni Gaudí, Gothic altarpieces, and Renaissance masterworks.
