Finland's oldest botanical garden was established at Kaisaniemi in 1829 and belongs to the Finnish Museum of Natural History (Luomus). Its four-hectare outdoor park features systematic plant collections, rock gardens, and mature tree-lined paths, open freely to the public all year round. Ten interconnected 19th-century glasshouses form the centrepiece, housing lush tropical palms and giant Victoria water lilies.
