Da Nang Cathedral

Religious site4.4 · 2 711≈ 32 minFree entry226 m from the center

Built in 1923 by French priest Louis Vallet during the colonial era, this pastel-pink Catholic church is one of Da Nang's most recognizable landmarks. Locals call it Nha Tho Con Ga (the Rooster Church) for the copper weathercock atop its 70-metre bell tower. Gothic Revival pointed arches, delicate stained-glass windows, and a peaceful courtyard garden with a Lourdes grotto make it a delightful stop.

Highlights

  • Pastel-pink Gothic Revival facade dating back to 1923
  • Copper rooster weathercock crowning the 70-metre spire
