Park4.4 · 41 5354.3 · 1 798≈ 45 minFree entry

Bucharest's oldest and most romantic public garden, laid out in 1854 around an artificial lake to a design by German landscape architect Carl Meyer. Weeping willows, limestone bridges, and shaded paths provide an oasis of calm away from the traffic of central boulevards. Cultural landmarks include the Writers' Rotunda lined with marble busts of Romanian authors, while in winter the frozen lake becomes a lively ice-skating venue.

Highlights

  • Picturesque central lake with rental rowboats and winter ice rink
  • Writers' Rotunda featuring marble busts of Romanian literary greats
  • Century-old shaded avenues lined with willows and heritage lamps
