The Kretzulescu Church on Calea Victoriei is one of Bucharest's finest monuments of Brâncovenesc architecture, erected between 1720 and 1722 by chancellor Iordache Crețulescu. Its exposed red-brick exterior, elegant arcaded porch, and carved stone entrance survived both devastating earthquakes and communist-era demolition plans. Inside, visitors can admire original 18th-century frescoes and wall paintings by master Gheorghe Tattarescu.
