The stone bridge across the Vltava, founded by Charles IV in 1357: 621 metres, 16 piers and three dozen baroque statues installed mostly in the early 18th century. Legend says egg yolks were mixed into the mortar for strength. It links the Old Town with Malá Strana; dawn is empty, days are full of artists and tourists.
