The Sofia Synagogue is the largest Sephardic synagogue in Southeastern Europe, consecrated in 1909 before Tsar Ferdinand I. Designed by Austrian architect Friedrich Grünanger, the building harmoniously blends Moorish Revival and Vienna Secession styles. Highlights include a 31-metre dome, vibrant stained glass, carved Italian marble, and a magnificent 1.7-tonne brass chandelier made in Vienna.
