Dominating the Nea Paralia waterfront promenade in Thessaloniki, this monumental bronze equestrian statue honoring Alexander the Great was erected in 1973 by sculptor Evangelos Moustakas. Standing six meters high, it depicts the Macedonian king astride his legendary warhorse, Bucephalus. Behind the monument stand rows of bronze shields and long sarissa spears bearing symbolic reliefs, creating an iconic landmark overlooking the Thermaic Gulf.
