A four-storey emporium of independent traders in the Northern Quarter, running since 1982 as Afflecks Palace. Dozens of stalls sell vintage clothes, vinyl, comics, handmade jewellery and odd gifts, graffiti covers the walls, and every landing hides another photo-ready staircase. It is the stronghold of Manchester's alternative scene, where musicians of the Madchester era shopped. Entry is free.
