The National Crafts Museum near Pragati Maidan holds more than thirty thousand pieces of India's folk and tribal art: textiles, masks, puppets, pottery, miniatures and painted chariots. Around it spreads a museum village with temples and houses from different states, where craftsmen demonstrate their work in the courtyards. The adjoining Hastkala Academy studies traditional trades. The complex is quiet and largely overlooked by tourists.
