Belgrade's first public park, laid out in the 1830s under Prince Milos Obrenovic in the valley of the Topcider stream. Giant plane trees more than 150 years old shade the walking and running paths, and the Konak, Prince Milos's 19th-century residence, stands nearby. Trails lead on toward the Kosutnjak forest park. Locals escape here from the centre for quiet and summer shade, and the old Topcider railway station sits at the park's edge.
