Spanning the Adige River in Verona, this fortified three-arch bridge was constructed between 1354 and 1356 by Cangrande II della Scala. Designed as a secure escape route from the Castelvecchio fortress toward Tyrol, it stands out with red brick masonry, white limestone, and distinctive Ghibelline swallowtail battlements. Destroyed during World War II in 1945, the bridge was painstakingly rebuilt using original riverbed stones by 1951.
