An imperial garden with a thousand years of history west of Jingshan Hill, among China's oldest surviving parks. A white Tibetan-style dagoba raised in 1651 rises over the lake, and boats drift beneath the willows. The layout re-creates the mythical Mount Penglai, a theme that shaped Chinese garden design for centuries. The Nine-Dragon Wall of glazed tiles is one of only three in the country.
