Ho Chi Minh City's premier Catholic cathedral and a landmark of French colonial architecture, built between 1863 and 1880 in the heart of District 1. Designed in neo-Romanesque style with twin 58-metre bell towers topped by zinc spires, it was constructed entirely from materials imported from France, including unplastered Marseille red bricks that retain their bright hue today. In front stands the granite statue of Our Lady of Peace.
