Erected in 2000 on a busy intersection in the heart of Sofia, this monumental statue by sculptor Georgi Chapkanov replaced a demolished monument to Lenin. Rising 24 metres above the street on a tall granite pedestal, the bronze and copper figure personifies divine wisdom. She holds a laurel wreath of triumph in her right hand, balances an owl of wisdom on her left arm, and wears an antique crown honouring the city's ancient roots.
