A vast submarine pen on the bank of the Garonne, built for the Italian navy during the Second World War under the code name Betasom. Its massive concrete shells with four inclined docks survived every bombing. Today it is a cultural venue: Bassins des Lumières digital art shows and concerts take place here, and the scale of the structure impresses as much as the programmes.
