Zurich's oldest parish church stands on a gentle hill just south of the Lindenhof in the historic Altstadt. Its Romanesque tower boasts the largest church clock face in Europe, measuring an astounding 8.7 meters in diameter with a four-meter-long minute hand. Beneath the light-filled baroque hall from 1705 lie archaeological remnants of early medieval chapels from the ninth century, and Zurich's first mayor Rudolf Brun is buried here.
