Fraumünster Church

Sight4.5 · 4 4184.2 · 1 797≈ 45 minEntry: ~5 CHF526 m from the center

A former abbey church with a green spire on the Limmat quays, founded in 853 by Louis the German. Its great draw is the set of five Marc Chagall windows in the choir (1967–1970): blue, green and red biblical scenes flare up in sunlight. There is also Augusto Giacometti's rose window, while the crypt keeps nine centuries of the city's history. Tourists pay CHF 5, which includes an illustrated leaflet.
