Wat Saket Ratchawora Mahawihan

Sight4.7 · 7 8354.4 · 5 178≈ 1 h 8 minEntry: ~50 THB

A temple on the Golden Mount, a man-made hill in old Bangkok that grew out of 19th-century earthworks. A white staircase spirals up past walls, bells and niches to a gilded chedi at the top, which holds a Buddhist relic. The terrace offers one of the best panoramas of the old city, from the Grand Palace to the business district. In November a lantern-lit temple fair takes place here.
