A Victorian park in Croydon, opened in 1890. The river Wandle has been brought back through it: the stream winds among meadows and willows, echoing the days when mills stood on these banks. Today it offers picnic lawns, a playground and paths for slow strolls; the park is an easy walk from Croydon centre, and in summer the grass fills with games and picnics.
