An ancient fortified citadel perched on a rocky promontory above the Vltava River, steeped in 10th-century origins and Czech legends. Within its brick baroque ramparts lie the Neo-Gothic Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul with Art Nouveau frescoes, the 11th-century Romanesque Rotunda of St Martin, and the Slavín Cemetery where Dvořák, Smetana, and Čapek are buried. The ramparts offer quiet panoramas of Prague. Grounds entry is free.
