Vietnam's national history museum occupies a 1930s Indo-Chinese-style building by Ernest Hébrard near the Opera House. The timeline runs from the Palaeolithic to 1945: Dong Son bronze drums, Cham sculpture, Buddhist art, ceramics, weapons and costumes. One ticket also covers the second building, the former Revolution Museum across the crossing; the museum closes at midday, so time your visit accordingly.
