A subterranean labyrinth of caverns, quarries, and cisterns plunging 40 meters beneath the vibrant streets of Naples. First excavated by ancient Greeks for tuff building stone, the passages were transformed by Romans into an aqueduct network. During World War II, the caverns served as crucial air-raid bomb shelters. Guided routes lead through candlelit tunnels, subterranean gardens, and into Nero's ancient theatre.
