Sight4.8 · 8 7354.4 · 1 231≈ 22 minFree entry1.0 km from the center

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier rests beneath the surviving arcade of the destroyed Saxon Palace on Pilsudski Square. The grave was laid out in 1925, and an eternal flame is guarded by an honour guard ceremonially changed every hour. Behind it spreads the Saxon Garden, while the square itself is a historic stage for state ceremonies. Time your visit for the top of the hour to watch the changing of the guard — the most memorable sight here.
