Alexander Pushkin's last apartment in the Volkov house on the Moika canal, where the poet lived from autumn 1836 and died in January 1837 after his duel. Eleven rooms were restored in the 1920s under architect Shchusev: the study with its writing desk, the waistcoat the poet wore when wounded and the couch on which he died. The memorial forms part of the All-Russian Pushkin Museum.
