The Choral Temple is Bucharest's main working synagogue, constructed between 1864 and 1866. Designed by architects Enderle and Freiwald as a replica of Vienna's Leopoldstadt Tempelgasse Synagogue, the building is a stunning example of Moorish Revival architecture with alternating bands of yellow and red brick. The breathtaking interior features intricate geometric ceiling frescoes, gilded woodwork, hanging chandeliers, and Moorish arches.
