An immigrant-history museum on Orchard Street: inside an 1863 tenement, apartments are recreated as they were for families who lived here from the 1860s to the 1930s — Irish, Jewish, Italian, Chinese and Puerto Rican households. Visits are guided only, with apartment tours, neighbourhood walks and food-history programs. Founded in 1988 and affiliated with the National Park Service.
