The ruins of Adolph Sutro's vast indoor bathhouse, opened in 1896 at Lands End: seven seawater pools under a glass roof, plus an ice rink and a museum of curiosities. The 1966 fire left concrete terraces that visitors now wander, watching the surf crash in. The scenic Lands End trail starts right here.
