The Slovak National Gallery occupies the 18th-century Water Barracks and Esterházy Palace on the Danube embankment, joined by a contemporary glass bridge. It reopened after a major reconstruction in 2022. The collection spans Gothic altarpieces from medieval Spiš workshops, Baroque painting, and 20th-century Slovak art by Ľudovít Fulla, Martin Benka and Mikuláš Galanda. A café overlooks the river.
