Sin Sze Si Ya is the oldest Taoist temple in Kuala Lumpur, founded in 1864 by the influential Kapitan Yap Ah Loy. It was built to honor the patron deities Sin Sze Ya and Si Sze Ya, who guided him during the Selangor Civil War. Inside, a mystical atmosphere reigns with hanging incense coils, elaborate woodcarvings, and an antique sedan chair. Local students regularly visit before exams to crawl beneath the deity's altar table for good fortune.
