A sumptuous high-baroque chapel inside Naples Cathedral, dedicated to the city's patron saint Januarius. Vowed in 1527 and built in the 17th century, it is administered independently by a secular deputation of Neapolitan citizens. The chapel dazzles with frescoes by Domenichino and Giovanni Lanfranco, ornate bronze gates by Cosimo Fanzago, and a silver reliquary bust holding the ampoules of Saint Januarius's blood.
