Standing along Warsaw's prestigious Royal Route on Krakowskie Przedmieście, the Presidential Palace is the official residence and workplace of Poland's head of state. Originating in the 1640s as a noble residence, the building assumed its present neoclassical grandeur under architect Chrystian Piotr Aigner in 1818. Famous for hosting the 1989 Round Table Talks, its forecourt features an equestrian statue of Prince Józef Poniatowski.
