Edinburgh's own seaside beach on the Firth of Forth: a broad sandy shore and a long promenade from its Victorian resort days. Sunbathers, hardy swimmers, runners and cyclists share the seafront with ice-cream parlours and fish-and-chip shops. It is roughly half an hour from the city centre by bus, and on clear days Fife can be seen across the water.
