Warsaw's most prominent and debated landmark is this 237-metre high-rise built between 1952 and 1955 to a design by Lev Rudnev. Combining socialist realism with Polish historicist flourishes, the vast tower hosts theatres, cinemas, museums and research centres. At 114 metres up, the 30th-floor outdoor viewing terrace offers sweeping 360-degree panoramas across the capital and the Vistula river.
