Serbia's main museum on Republic Square, founded in 1844 and reopened in 2018 after a long renovation. Some 400,000 objects range from Neolithic Vinča figurines and Scythian gold to French impressionists and Serbian medieval icons — Monet, Renoir, Matisse, Picasso and Mondrian all hang here. Admission to the permanent display is free every Sunday.
