Seoul's most recognizable landmark rises 236 metres atop Namsan Mountain, offering 360-degree panoramic views across the metropolis and the Han River. Opened to the public in 1980, the tower is famous for its outdoor terraces covered with thousands of colourful love padlocks, as well as an evening LED lighting system indicating city air quality. Visitors reach the summit via a scenic cable car or forested walking trails.
