Europe's largest trompe-l'oeil mural — 1,200 m² of painted façade in the Croix-Rousse district. Created by the CitéCréation workshop in 1987 and reworked in 1997, it shows a whole 'village' of Lyon silk weavers: staircases, shops, balconies and their inhabitants. The wall pays tribute to the canuts and their 19th-century revolts, which made the district a symbol of working-class Lyon; best viewed from the street corner below.
