A Roman theatre from the 1st century BC at the foot of the Moorish Alcazaba — Malaga's oldest monument, found by accident in 1951 during construction work. Moorish builders carted off stones to reinforce their own walls, taking parts of the tiers with them. The ruins are now open to all: you can sit on the semicircular stone steps and look up at the fortress above. A small interpretation centre next door is free as well.
