A historic stone wall of the Maltese garden in Prague's Malá Strana, facing the French Embassy. Following John Lennon's murder in 1980, local youths began filling it with Lennon portraits, Beatles lyrics, and political graffiti in defiance of communist authorities. Continually repainted and refreshed by visitors, it stands today as an internationally recognized open-air symbol of peace and creative freedom.

Highlights

  • Living open-air monument to peace and free speech since 1980
  • Layers of Beatles lyrics and iconic Lennon portrait art
  • Historic cobblestone setting beside the Maltese garden
